Nigel Farage has suggested we SHOULD have a second referendum on the entire question of our EU membership – despite describing a Labour politician as a “dishonest, disconnected, twisted little weasel” for doing the same.

The UKIP MEP announced what has to count as the biggest u-turn in modern British political history on Channel 5 this morning:

And he has now tweeted out the same proposal:

It comes just three days after Farage’s rant against Labour peer Lord Adonis for suggesting the same thing:

What makes it even more surprising is that the two latest polls on a second referendum show a majority would vote to stay in the EU.

A Survation poll for the Mail on Sunday carried out on December 4 found the referendum result would be reversed in a new poll with a 52% to 48% win for remain.

A BMG poll for the Independent taken on December 16 found 51% of people wanted to stay in the EU compared to just 41% who want to leave.

So bring it on, Farage! Meanwhile we look forward to the Daily Mail splash branding you a ‘traitor’…

  1. The more outrageous this sad excuse for a human being is, the more airtime he gets. Taking lessons from ’45’.

  2. If you believe the polls like you did last time – then you are in for a disappointment. You’ll lose. Besides there won’t be a 3rd referendum – the first was in 1975 by the way

  3. Daley Gleephart says:

“So maybe – just maybe – I’m reaching the point of thinking that we should have a second referendum on EU membership.” – Nigel Farage 11 Jan 2018.

Are you one of those who thinks that you’re clever by referring to the 1975 referendum as one about the EU even though the EU wasn’t founded until the Lisbon Treaty?

  4. Remainers bring it on! Leave has had months now to build a base of even stronger arguments against the EU. The polls will predict a certain victory for Remain and again, you will lose.

  5. Maybe, just maybe it is beginning to dawn on Mr Farage that Brexit is going to be a complete and utter disaster for the UK. As he will be looked upon as the one person most responsible for bringing it about, he knows that he will be despised in this country and will have to live out his days in Trump Land. A Remain vote in other words will save his bacon.
