Nearly 3,000 life jackets have been laid out in Parliament Square this morning, to highlight to MPs the dangers refugees face when trying to escape civil war and terrorist groups.
The organisers say it is a ‘lifejacket graveyard’ and highlights the thousands of people who have lost their lives trying to cross the Mediterranean sea just in the last few weeks.
It has been organised by the charity International Rescue Committee (the IRC).
They say the lifejackets were worn by refugees who made the deadly crossing from Turkey to Chios, Greece.
World leaders are planning to meet in New York today to discuss the refugees crisis arising from the Syrian civil war.
The IRC and others want them to commit to taking in more refugees.
The UN estimates around 65 million have been displaced from their homes due to conflict, violence or political persecution.
