The Labour Party’s decision-making process on memberships seems to have become an incomprehensible nightmare.
Last week Political Scrapbook reported the case of one member who had been suspended from the Labour party merely for swearing at an American artist for their racism. Not long after our story, Labour got in touch with her to lift the suspension.
Now another member has approached Political Scrapbook with an equally bizarre tale.
India Thorogood has been a member for a year and initially joined the party to support Jeremy Corbyn. She has become disillusioned with him since.
She too got a letter of suspension last week (at the end), with hardly any information on why other than the fact they relate to 21st July.
And her only tweets that day seem be in defence of Diane Abbott and Angela Eagle, and some mild criticism of Corbyn.
She told us:
For context I was pro Corbyn, now disillusioned by him but don’t like smith. So am a bit confused which side I’m being purged by 🙂
We have contacted the Labour party for a comment.
