Britain First

The far-right goup Britain First admitted to “panic” after they failed to stop Bedfordshire police getting them banned from mosques and Luton town.

In a video posted online they said they were worried that a legal fight with the police could cost them up to £100 thousand, and bankrupt them.

Bedfordshire Police successfully got an injunction against the leaders of the far-right thuggish group

This meant they were banned from:

(a) Entering any Mosque or Islamic Cultural Centre or its private grounds within England and Wales without prior written invitation.

(b) Being within a designated exclusion zone in the Bury Park area unless they remain at all times within a railway carriage travelling along the railroad adjoining Luton railway station.

(c) Causing, permitting, encouraging or inciting any person to enter or remain in designated exclusion zone in the Bury Park area unless they remain at all times within a railway carriage travelling along the railroad adjoining Luton railway station.

There are more restrictions too, outlined here.

But for Britain First there was a bigger problem at hand: the legal bill.

They had told their followers they would vehemently fight any action by the Police until the end.

But in an embarrassing climbdown, they now admit they won’t.

In a panicky video posted to social media yesterday, a distressed looking Paul Golding (its leader) declared:

Even at this very early stage in the proceedings, the cost that we could be forced to pay if we lose, are running into the tens of thousands.

One the preliminary hearing and the full hearing are done and dusted, once the proceedings have run their full length, the total cost would be astronomical.

I asked our legal representatives for a conservative estimate of what we could potentially be liable for if we fight this all the way and lose.

And they said, in all honesty, anywhere between sixty and a hundred thousand pounds.

Paul Golding said that persuaded him to cooperate with the injunction by Bedfordshire Police and stick to it.

What an embarrassing climbdown for the mouthy thugs
