Mark Clarke with David Cameron

The father of a young Conservative activist has accused the Conservative Party of a “whitewash” over the suicide of his son.

The comments by Ray Johnson come after Mark Clarke — the man alleged to have bullied his son Elliott Johnson — was thrown out of the party today.

In an interview, Mr Johnson labelled the inquiry by Conservative Campaign Headquarters into the tragedy as “nothing more than a whitewash“:

“The allegations seem to have been swept under the carpet”

“I do not believe the Conservative Party have any real interest in solving this problem”

In strong words, Mr Johnson also claims Mark Clarke wasn’t the only person involved in this scandal:

“There were many other people within Conservative Party who were pulling his levers”

So who within Tory HQ was apparently passing Clarke the names of people who had complained about him?
