A young mum — who voted Tory at the last election — lashed out at Tory minister Amber Rudd on Question Time last night about the government’s plans to cut tax credits for poorest workers.

The look on Rudd’s face says it all:

Wonder what the bookies are giving for a U-turn by Cameron on tax credit cuts?

  1. “Wonder what the bookies are giving for a U-turn by Cameron on tax credit cuts?”

You are SOOOO fucking deluded if you think one tearful woman will make any fucking difference at all to the Tory agenda!

  2. He will have to Tax credits enable business to employ people on a lower wage.
It is a Business subsidy in the same way that Housing benmefit is a subsidy to Lsndlords.
Small Business cannot afford the living wage.

  3. I was focus out of my job nearly 2 years ago because I had children and wasn’t flexible. I can’t get a job to many zero hour contract about company don’t want people who aren’t flexible.
No offer of training to get you a job unless you pay it back and then it doesn’t cover all course.

  4. Barbara MacArthur says:

Always thought tax credits a daft idea. My husband left in a car he had not paid for when I was 5 months pregnant with our son. We were renting rooms. He left town and did not know where or why. Never supported us. Son was disabled With no help and little education I managed to work and save for a home for us eventually. No tax credits then. Employers should pay decent wages.

  5. Jonathan Wilson says:

When they came for the sick
I did not complain because I was still getting my tax credits.
When they came for the disabled
I did not complain because I was still getting my tax credits.
When they came for the unemployed
I did not complain because I was still getting my tax credits.
When they came for the poor
I did not complain because I was still getting my tax credits.
When they came for the large families
I did not complain because I was still getting my tax credits.
When they came for the hard working
I complained because they took my tax credits.
When they came for the pensioner
there was no one left to complain because only the rich were left…

And they were doing quite nicely, thanks to the cun’servatives.
