With the Guardian publishing excerpts of legal threats from Shapps’ lawyers to a constituent who called him out on Facebook, here are edited highlights of the letter this blog received after contacting Tory HQ about the same story last October:

Well, they were certainly right about one thing: their client being caught lying would seriously harm his reputation.
