As a leading figure in a national political campaign, one might expect a little publicity. But not chair of the No to AV, noted climate change denier, Lord Leach of Fairford.
The Guardian’s Hugh Muir reports:
Yesterday colleagues called the No camp asking for a stock photograph of the Tory peer. No, came the reply, he really shouldn’t be in such a gallery as he is very much “in the background”. They also declined to name any campaign events he may have attended.
So please allow Scrapbook to oblige with two photos of Lord Leach looking every inch the Tory grandee, though, having donated £25,000 to the campaign, we’re sure he can afford some decent publicity snaps.
Is the Rothschild banker somehow not “on brand” for the No campaign?
