Mike Hancock: fashion icon

Liberal Democrat MP Mike Hancock did the media rounds yesterday in defence of his soon-to-be-deported Russian researcher Ivaana Leakurdokuments, ahem sorry, Katerina Zatuliveter. Should a cavalier attitude to secret defence materialraunchy texts or an arrest for the alleged “sexual assault of a constituent” put an end to his parliamentary career, there is surely scope to become a Marks & Spencers catalogue model.

Indeed, there is more to Hancock’s wardrobe than the cable knit lilac sweater and polka dot scarf/flasher mac combo (above) from Sunday:

The Scrapbook team can’t decide which outfit we prefer.

Perhaps readers have a view?

The man in the (not so) white suit

As the political temperature cools in parliament’s approach to the summer recess, many members will still opt for an attire better adapted to an oftentimes hot and humid Westminster. But while they may look the part on the rack in Debenhams, the cream and tan shades of linen suits are unforgiving of MPs neglectful of their dry cleaning obligations.

In most desperate need of a trip to Johnson’s is Liberal Democrat Julian Huppert, who strides around the parliamentary estate in a suit described by Scrapbook’s source as “absolutely filthy”.

So now parliament has risen, perhaps the honourable member can make like Martin Bell and actually visit the dry cleaners?

There are enough of them in his Cambridge constituency.
