After the Conservatives’ emergency Budget cuts £6 billion from public spending, three families in a typical surburban street are visited by a grey-suited government official who tells them about cuts to Child Tax Credit, Child Trust Fund payments and Labour’s cancer specialist guarantee.

A LabourList post by Gellard, who also blogs at The Stilettoed Socialist, precipitated steadily snowballing support for the move. An online petition now boasts more than 300 signatures, Eddie Izzard has tweeted his support and those who have emailed Victoria Street to back the video are rumoured to include Alastair Campbell, who has blogged his approval, saying “it’s a powerful reminder of why Labour values matter”.
