When debate all becomes too much, many peers of the realm are partial to a restorative snooze during proceedings of “the other place”. Baron Foulkes of Cumnock (who boasts a dual mandate as an MSP), made a move to import this practice to Holyrood today and arrived dressed for the occasion. The photocall (for charidee, of course)* occasioned the following classic quote from former Scots first minister Jack McConnell:
