Gordon Brown stars in hilarious Tory shoot 'em up computer game!

Scrapbook is impressed enough that someone has ported the legendary 1996 first-person shooter Quake to run on an internet browser in Flash. But changing the game art so all the bad guys are Tories? Absolute genius! You can click here to play “Gordon’s Revenge.

If you need any more convincing to waste the rest of Friday afternoon, this is the plot:

Its May 7th, and David Cameron has just won the general election. He immediately reveals himself to be a Dark Lord and enslaves Britain. Now, only one man can save us…

In the words of the creators:

“We have no political affiliations, we just like the idea of Gordon Brown wielding an axe.”

The amount of loving care dedicated to this is astonishing. Faces of well-known Tories have been grafted on to Quake characters; Thatcher, Portillo, Osborne, Boris, Major and, or course, Cameron all feature, with Nick Griffin making a cameo as a union jack-wearing rottweiler.  Posters from MyDavidCameron and others have been included as game art on walls. To see all this in action, wait for the demo sequence to start after the game loads.

Massive kudos to Chris Doman and Richard Lewis at Political Gaming for this. They’ve missed a trick by not including any Tory sound effects, but that’s just nit-picking. To paraphrase Charlie Brooker:

This game could literally fart in my face and I would still love it.
