Fox News anchor forgets about 9/11

Just days after filling Glenn Beck’s vacated Fox News timeslot, conservative anchor Eric Bolling has already been caught trying to rewrite the history books.

On the new panel show The Five, Bolling not only declared the US “safe” under President Bush’s leadership, he said he “didn’t remember” any terrorist attacks on the US between 2000 and 2008:

Rather than apologise unreservedly for the deadliest terror attack in American history having slipped his mind, Mr Bolling took it as an opportunity to complain about how petty it was that the “radical left” had pointed it out.

Good to know Fox hasn’t lost its taste for revisionist history with Beck’s departure.

Congress campaign adverts say candidate “gets shit done”

Though he should be a shoo-in for California’s 36th District, former Disney executive and Democrat candidate Dan Adler seems determined to make himself known voters outside the Golden State, having released some controversial TV spots as part of his campaign.

Such is the appeal of the “gets shit done” message that even Glenn Beck has been confused into endorsing him.

Though the Scrapbook team love these, we’ve still not seen an advert this year to match Dale Peterson.

Fox News’ Glenn Beck gets the Rap News treatment in latest video

Following on from their WikiLeaks video featuring (the real) Julian Assange, the latest video from Rap News stars Glenn Beck, Hugo Chavez, John Pilger and a host of others.

It’s an epic at nearly ten minutes but well worth your attention.

Right wing nutjob Glenn Beck attacks UK Uncut on Fox News

Having upset the apple cart in Whitehall, UK Uncut are hitting screens over the Atlantic, where our friend Glenn Beck has attacked the tax campaigners live on Fox News. True to his tin foil hat-gripping form, Beck even suggests that they are aligned with the wave of protest sweeping North Afria, repeating his claim that …

… this unrest could spread from Middle East to Europe and eventually America and that this would be co-ordinated all around the world.

Being attacked by Beck is a moral victory in itself.

Glenn Beck: Muslim coup in UK will follow revolution in Egypt

The Scrapbook team are at once amused and terrified by the increasingly fevered rants from Fox News and talk radio firebrand Glenn Beck. In his latest prophecy, he reveals that if the Muslim Brotherhood seize power in Egypt, then a Muslim coup in the UK is inevitable.

While this turn of events would seem improbable to those with even a basic grasp of international politics, Beck is certain — once you get past his scattergun approach to grammar — that Islamageddon is nigh!

If the Muslim brotherhood takes Egypt, it destabilizes the entire Middle East. It sets the Middle East – if not immediately, within a reasonable period of time, sets the entire thing on fire …

As soon as anyone thinks that there is a shot, the Muslim radicals in Europe and in England rise up, once they [the Communists and the Muslims] start to work in concert, Europe is done.

His missive may be just the latest in a series of increasingly deranged right-wing pronouncements. Before you return the gas mask to the attic and take down the Anderson shelter, however, take a look at this historical LiveDesk map of the Middle East . It seems the Egyptians have, in Beck’s words, “set the entire thing on fire” and assumed control of Iraq!

Either that or the Fox News team have an embarrassingly poor grasp of foreign affairs.

We’ll let you decide which it is.

NHS patients complain because waiting lists are too short. No, really.

For those who have been living in a cave at the bottom of the Irish Sea with earmuffs on for the last two months, Tory MEP Daniel Hannan has been touring American TV studios with a misinformation campaign about the British health system.  The lies start with NHS waiting lists:

“The most striking thing about it is that very often you are sent to the back of the queue. You turn up with an ailment and you’re told ‘okay, how about October of next year?’” – Daniel Hannan

Those not living in a timewarp – it’s 2009 no 1989 – know that this is a scaremongering bunch of crap. In fact, waiting times at the NHS Queen’s Hospital in Burton have fallen so much that some patients are saying their operations are being scheduled too quickly:

"Patients want to wait longer" from Burton Mail

“Incredibly enough, some patients now say it’s too quick and want time to think and plan. People still believe that if they need something like a hip operation, it’s going to be months.” Figures show Queen’s saw 94.6 per cent of admitted patients within the 18-week referral to treatment time, well over the 90 per cent target.

Here it comes:

“The funding that the NHS has had over the last few years has made it possible because we’ve been able to expand our capacity and see patients more quickly.” – Paula Clark, chief executive, Queen’s Hospital, Burton

Perhaps someone should tell Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck?
