With the Guardian publishing excerpts of legal threats from Shapps’ lawyers to a constituent who called him out on Facebook, here are edited highlights of the letter this blog received after contacting Tory HQ about the same story last October:

Oh, yeah?

Grant Shapps threatening us again. Yawn.

Grant Shapps threatening us again. Yawn.

Grant Shapps threatening us again. Yawn.

Well, they were certainly right about one thing: their client being caught lying would seriously harm his reputation.

  1. No wonder they headed it ‘strictly private & confidential’. Not that I’m suggesting they knew he was lying, perish the thought, I’m sure they are one of those rare specimens, honest lawyers.
