UPDATE: Cambridgeshire Police have told Scrapbook they are “aware of the incident” involving Griffin’s tweets. We’re trying to find out more right now.
UPDATE II: Nick Griffin’s Twitter account has now been suspended
UPDATE III: The account is now back, with the address tweet deleted
BNP leader Nick Griffin has published the home address of a gay couple in what is clearly an attempt to incite a bigoted mob to invade their street. Michael Black and John Morgan today won civil damages after controversially being turned away from a bed and breakfast in March 2010:
Scrapbook has a feeling that Nick will be getting a visit from the police.

The BNP’s bankrupt, the party finances are going down the pan, one of its two MEPs has quit, and now the Fuhrer’s effectively handed himself a prison sentence?
This is beautiful.
I hope he does get a prison sentence. Trouble is he’s a bit old, fat and ugly for some big hard long termer to give him a good “seeing to”. Pity.
Tory MP Stewart Jackson is having his say on the case too:

Berkshire B & B case demonstrates why you can’t trust the government/judiciary to protect religious beliefs #worthlesspledgesongaymarriage

This is basically the same as the school bully not taking someone on one-on-one, he has to get his mates to do it for him.
Your time is coming Griffin….and not in the way you think….
Nick Griffin’s homophobic hate crimes and threats of violence and harassment can be reported to the appropriate authorities here: https://secure.met.police.uk/hatecrime_internet/
@Tris – You condemn Griffin’s homophobia by wishing rape upon him. You are a truly vile person.
Apparently he’s now been suspended from Twitter.
Aww, thank you, colin. I consider that a compliment.
But I was actually thinking was that, if he was going to be inside for a while he’d probably be wanting a bit of sex. They tell me that you do… I wouldn’t know, not having been inside. And he’s not going to get any, because he is pretty horrible.
I condemn ColinSpann’s idiocy by wishing rape upon him. Ain’t I a truly vile person….
So these two gays are getting a taste of what the B&B owners have been getting from the likes tatchell & other gay rights nazis for months. Pots and kettles spring to mind.
People shouldn’t have harassed the B&B owners, and I’m saying that despite not agreeing with them.
But it’s a different kettle of fish when the leader of a Far Right organisation prints someone’s address and asks his followers to mete out “justice”. Remember Griffin is actually considered a moderate to many in his party; skinheads aren’t really known for holding placards and quietly saying ‘Down With This Kind Of Thing’ when they don’t like something.
Plus on a nuts and bolts level, giving people’s personal details is firmly against Twitter’s T&Cs, so even ignoring everything else he should have expected sanction from Twitter.
OK so people who tried to incite riots by planning them on the internet on social media sites last summer giving times and address with the intention of breaking the law. They got jailed for intent to incite. he knows the type of people who read his tweets and what might happen he should be arrested and charged under the same laws as them.
I don’t agree with griffin inciting people to visit these people but he has a point when he says that an english mans home is his castle and you should be able make your own rules not have rules imposed on you. If there is something I don’t like or agree with then I should be free to. voice my opinion or concerns without fear of legal action or retribution. Freedom of speech. and expression is a human right.
Your home is your castle until you open it up as place of business, then you are rightly subject to the various legalities. That has nothing to do with freedom of speech.
Yup, by the same argument should B&Bs be allowed to say “no blacks”? Should a shop or a restaurant be allowed to turn gay couples away as well, or is this all about bedroom matters?
Anyway debating the original point of whether the B&B should be allowed to block gay couples or not doesn’t alter the fact it’s wrong to post someone’s address online and stir up an angry mob to mete out “justice”.
Nick Griffin should be prosecuted for his homophobic actions. To deliberately try and incite mob rule against a gay couple who quite rightly have won the right “Equality “to stay in a B&B, is quite frankly abhorent, I only wish the European Parliament would throw him out as he does not represent the majority of UK residents beliefs. Christianity amongst many other religions have for too long missued their power to prevent equality, be it sexual, racial or gender based or the right to education or the hiding of sexual abuse to minors. There is nothing wrong with religion, but there is when it is abused and the basic tenets of it ignored such as equality for all !
Everyone has the right to be free from discrimination, those who chose to discriminate against others for whatever reason religion, peronal opinion, a bit of ignorance etc. then don’t open a business to the public, or if you wish to open a business then leave your discriminatory beliefs at the door. They have the right to discriminat/have their own opinion in their own home, but not to the public when it is offensive to others. What if someone sat on the street outside thir business/home with a load of anti-christian billboards, i’m sure they would find this offensive, and most likely want something done about it. Also Griffin is clearly an ignorant idiot; let’s get rid of all the foregin workers in this country, hello 10 hour wait time in A&E!
So their address has been published so what – the Bed & Breakfast peoples home which is what it was not a hotel can be googled up. Courts give out the home addresses of un-convicted people to the press every day. Croydon magistrates refused so called tram rant women Emma West bail for ” her own safety” due to it being on the web. When a judge granted her bail the court gave her address to the press who published it. Do a google search and you can find the address of the people who came up with the protective custody lie scam. EG magistrates and CPS solicitors.
David Brown: on the other hand, Griffin Gave out the address with the intention of getting a group (aka a mob) to go that address, to, in his words, “give them a bit of drama”. That’s the problem. Regardless of whether you disagree with the B&B owners or not, it can’t be right for anyone to essentially incite a mob to go to anyone’s house. Also, just because other groups or other people do something, doesn’t mean it’s ok for anyone else to do it too.
I recall reading earlier that Griffin earlier said that “discrimination was a right”, which I think just shows how skewed his priorities are.
Well said Andrew McD.
Griffin, his acolytes and claque are an unsavoury lot.
An intriguing discussion is worth comment. There’s no doubt that that you should publish more on this issue, it may not be a taboo subject but typically people don’t speak about such issues.
To the next! Many thanks!!
