Jon Stewart teases Boris Johnson about drugs on the Daily Show

Daily Show host Jon Stewart thrust a container of marijuana under Boris Johnson’s nose when he appeared on the programme.

After Boris offered sanctuary to “refugees” from New York’s proposed ban on selling large size fizzy drinks, Stewart ventured that London was the “Amsterdam of soda” — before producing plastic cups containing Coca Cola and weed.

If the law passes alongside another which reduces the penalty for marijuana possession, New Yorkers could get in more trouble for selling someone a 17-ounce fizzy drink than possessing 24 grams of the drug.

Boris quipped:

“I can’t remember what my line on drugs is. What’s my line on drugs?”

As 1980s Oxford drug dealers were aware, Boris has form where “lines” are concerned.
