UPDATE I: BNP now wiped out on Epping Forest
UPDATE II: They’ve definitely lost every seat contested
A combination of UKIP success and their own unpopularity has hammered the latest nail into Nick Griffin’s political coffin – with the party set to lose all the seats they are defending.
- The BNP have lost 10 of the 12 seats they are defending — with two to declare
- For the first time in ten years the party have no councillors in Burnley — they were once the official opposition group in the borough
And with a decision to concentrate resources on the London elections, perhaps the mayoral contest or GLA seats — where the BNP met the threshold of 5% to sieze a seat in 2008 — could provide a lining to that cloud?
Apparently their, erm, South American candidate, referred to simply as “Carlos” in election literature, has been trounced:
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Nick.

The ONLY good news to come out of this apathetic round of voting.
32% turnout? No wonder the country’s in the shit, people don’t vote because they are blinkered and brainwashed into thinking there are only 3 party political systems available, hence ‘they are all the same’ syndrome. GRRRRRR!
Let’s not get too excited. It isn’t often that I find myself agreeing with Sayeeda Warsi: BNP losses are UKIP gains.
The War isn’t over.
BNP Chapter Two – UKIP.
What UKIP gains?
