Ron Paul campaign: “Please don’t wave guns around at our event”

As if a pub crawl in support of a man who wants to allow the legalisation of drugs and hookers didn’t sound like enough fun already, warnings on invitations to a pro-Ron Paul bash have raised eyebrows yet further.

The invitations, sent to Paul supporters in Manchester, NH yesterday and posted on twitter by PBS reporter Quinn Bowman, advised attendees that they should feel free to bring weapons to the do, as long as they didn’t wave them around.

“We request that if you choose to exercise your 2nd amendment right, it is in a concealed fashion. The press has been invited and we don’t want them to focus solely on open carrying which we all know they will.”

They go on to describe Paul, an isolationist who believes the US should leave the United Nations and NATO as “the dude!!”

Considering the rest of Ron’s doo-lally policies, it seems unlikely a few gun-toting supporters would do anything to further harm his chances of becoming President.

In fact, with firearm-friendly South Carolina up next in primary season, they might even do him a favour.
