Ron Paul: “Huntsman released racist ad attacking himself”

Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman has enjoyed a respectable leap in the New Hampshire polls this week, but if GOP rival Ron Paul is to be believed, it has been the result of some devious and risky tactics.

Over the weekend a racist online attack ad emerged, apparently made by a Ron Paul supporter. The ad mocks Huntsman’s Chinese and Indian adopted children, and questions his loyalty to America. Since then, Huntsman and his team have quickly and widely denounced the video, describing it as “disgusting” and delivering heartfelt speeches telling the story of how they came to adopt.

But last night, Ron Paul’s team claimed that not only was the video not their doing, but that it had in fact been released by Huntsman’s own team.

“After researching the available evidence, we believe it is likely that the video came from a source within or closely tied to the Huntsman Campaign”

Huntsman’s reaction to the video may have led to his surge past flavour-of-last-week Rick Santorum to take third place in the latest New Hampshire polls, but the ex-Ambassador to China’s apparent “hunts-mentum” has been dealt a blow by his campaign’s apparent ineptitude.

While he may be gaining favour in the Granite State, he won’t even be on the ballot in Arizona, because he forgot to sign the form. Huntsman previously failed to submit enough public signatures to qualify for inclusion on the Virginia and Illinois ballots.

Huntsman may never win his party’s nomination, but he’s certainly running this year’s oddest campaign.

And that’s got to be worth at least VP, right?

The day after the video was released. Ron Paul’s supporters found Huntsman supporters posting in a forum thread. They were bragging about releasing the video, saying how stupid Ron Paul supporters were, then realizing they can’t hide the forum post and people would eventually see what they were doing. Google it and you will find the thread.

Even more obvious is the fact that the channel made for the video was on the same day as the video upload and there is a lot more this article isn’t telling you.

How about you provide a link to the thread instead?

What does it even matter? Since when did politicians become culpable for random videos made by trolls in their name? Very odd.
