Tory who dressed as Maddie McCann given leading role in Europe group

A man who was expelled from the Conservative Party for attending a fancy dress party as a “dead” Madeleine McCann has been welcomed back into the fold – and is now representing the party at European meetings.

Matthew Lewis was booted out after bragging that he was looking for a blonde wig, “pink pyjamas, a teddy bear and a vial of fake blood” for his sick outfit. But he now leads the party’s European youth organisation, a “player on the European stage” and a member of “Europe’s most influential youth centre-right political organisations”.

At the time of the original incident, then Tory chairman Caroline Spelman banned him from the party along with two other activists, with a spokesman for Kate and Gerry McCann saying:

“The offensiveness of his actions is almost beyond belief. It is a disgrace that Madeleine should be made fun of in this way.”

But Lewis now represents the Conservative Europe Group — whose president is cabinet member Ken Clarke – at meetings in continental cities such as Brussels and Berlin.

With his membership re-approved under the chairmanship of Baroness Warsi, Scrapbook wonders who then cleared Lewis for his European role?

Camoron spoke of “pockets of society” in reference to the riots, well here is a sick, vile, repulsive big pocket of tory society, as a parent i find this sickening.

Of course this is how the Tories behave, they condone the actions of the privileged while lamenting the failures of ‘common people’ in society, thereby enhancing the old boy network & political corruption to newer higher levels. They support the greed of bankers & corporates paying little or no tax to the UK & give them additional tax breaks, while penalising the pensions & pay of front line public workers who give their best to the country. But then, this is what the ill educated mypoic masses of Britain voted for, so we know what to do next time don’t we ?

My God – how sick a man is this? Yesterday’s Tories were bad enough, but this shower is beneath all contempt.

Oh FFS, why should a political party suspend you forever for being an insensitive d*ck?

Yes the guy has made himself out to be a toss*r at one point in his life, what, should he be ostracised forever? Perhaps you think euthanised?

Yes it was distasteful and wrong – but Labour have just invited back Dianne Abbott after she called all white people colonialists and saying they use ‘divide and rule’ tactics.

Also, how could we forget Mandelson? The most indestructible of all political cockroaches, who has now been made a Life Peer.

Funny how it’s always easier to blame the party who are in power, and totally overlook the filth on the other side.

Pretty sick and callous. Mind you, if he’d got an Art’s Council Grant for this stunt he would have been lauded by many of those criticising him.

I’d just be more concerned at the judgement of this guy. We expect this type of bright idea from our footballers or celebs, but someone that must be fairly bright doing this just shows a clear separation from reality. Must be a really weird guy.

Yeah the guys an idiot and frankly someone with level of judgement couldn’t really apply themselves to public service and I wish parties would bar people like this permanently.

    But

“Known as ‘ the nasty party’ for a reason”

Let’s just remind ourselves which wife of a former Labour Prime Minister plus his unelected media management thug autographed, then gave away to be auctioned for purposes of party fundraising copies of the Hutton inquiry , the whitewash that forgave Gvt figures of the time their role in throwing a man who exposed their double dealing on Iraq weapons evidence to the media wolves, for which the subsequent attention caused him to commit suicide.

Who’s nasty now? It doesn’t compare.

    A Tory:

Didn’t they just have the man killed for telling the BBC what they were up to?

Erm Ed Balls dressed up as a Nazi when he was this kids age, those without sin cast the first stone and all that, so clearly Labour can’t in this case.

But to be fair to Ed Balls, he was only dressing to express his enthusiasm for his fellow Socialists in Germany’s national sociaist party.

I think you’ll find his actions in government betrayed the same enthusiasm, handing over British gold reserves to the Reichsbank in Frankfurt in exchange for ReichsEuros, for example.

    @tris

No I don’t believe Kelly was murdered either by direct order or by some indirect ‘turbulent priest’ comment!

My point is that they were prepared to go quite far to cling onto power and clearly weren’t too worried by the consequential ‘collateral damage’.

The continental cities of Berlin and Brussels? Good job you explained, I’d have thought you meant the the Brussels in Norfolk and the Berlin in Berkshire.

God, what a foul creature! Allowing a ginger to lead the Tories’ European youth organisation, what kind of example is that?
