Aid role for Michael Howard (who planned to cut aid by £800 million)

 News reaches Scrapbook that the president of the newly formed Conservative Friends of International Development will be their election-losing machine Michael Howard (that’s Baron Howard of Lympne to you).

Could this be the same Michael Howard that planned to cut the UK’s aid budget by £800 million?

    “Election losing machine Michael Howard”?

    Would that be the same Michael Howard that got better results at election time than William Hague and was more popular as a leader than IDS?

    As for the point about cutting the aid budget, I agree that there’s some hypocrisy and irony there.
