With the leadership of Conservative controlled Surrey County Council collapsing like a pack of cards, confusion reigns and answers remain in short supply. The quest for truth saw BBC Radio Surrey’s Nick Wallis playing Paxman to local councillor Peter Martin’s Michael Howard in what must surely be one of the most unenlightening interviews of all time:

The councillor’s impenetrable defences leaves the good folk of Surrey none the wiser as to who is in control in the county and bemused at Martin’s limited vocabulary.

For now though, at least it’s crystal clear that “at this juncture there is nothing further to add”.

At least Ed Miliband had a point when he had the ridiculous interview.
