Do Republicans read books?

At this week’s debate for Republican Committee Chairman the assembled hopefuls were quizzed as to their favourite book. Scrapbook can’t decide which aspect of their responses was more disturbing, the real possibility that none of them actually read or one contender mis-hearing the question as “favourite bar”. With a previous post passing the Ferrero Rocher in Europe, one can only assume Ann Wagner is a familiar face to publicans across the BeNeLux region.

Citing Tolstoy’s War and Peace, incumbent Michael Steele burnishes his literary credentials with a relevant quotation from, erm, Charles Dickens.

I can’t believe that not one of them plumped for the Bible. These people clearly aren’t Republican enough to chair the GOP.
