David Cameron is apparently under the influence impression that 20 cans of Stella Artois can be purchased in a British supermarket for £5. That’s 25p per can! Scrapbook can only assume that a precipitous reduction in beer duty will be announced at the next pre-budget report.
Or perhaps Cameron doesn’t need to drink premium lager to talk sh*t?

Maybe he’s just found us a great cuts opportunity. Replace the Government’s £864,000 wine cellar with almost three and half million tinnies of Stella – bargain!
It’s possible he was just saying “Stella” to mean “beer generally” – in the same way some people say “Kleenex” to mean “tissues generally”. I understand he does like to work without notes, after all, so he may make a few slip-ups.
Also, you can get “Basics” beer from Sainsbury’s for less than that. I mean, it’s apparently a complete waste of water and whatever else they might put in there, but that’s the magic of “Basics”.
Wouldn’t it have been more refreshing if he’d said “20 cans of wife beater” though?
