Diplomatic row brews as Alex Salmond refused official car for Commonwealth Games in Delhi

General Salmond: to patronise Hertz car rental in Delhi?

A minor diplomatic row appears to be developing in Scotland.

It likely comes as little surprise to anyone that Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond harbours delusions of grandeur. Indeed one can easily picture Comrade Salmond inspecting his Scottish regiments, clad in a General’s uniform, sporting a chest-full of medals and chomping on a King Edward. However Big Eck’s delusions may be getting ahead of himself.

Knowing that it looks increasingly unlikely that his Government will remain in office by the time the Commonwealth Games come to Glasgow in 2014, Mr. Salmond is looking to make the most of the Games in Delhi in October.

However Scrapbook can exclusively reveal that the First Minister is throwing a hissy-fit over his being refused an official car and driver owing to the fact that he’s not a head of state. One Holyrood insider has described this decision as “quite right”, adding that Mr. Salmond is little more than a “jumped-up Mayor”.

Salmond has obviously decided to recreate his dream Delhi experience at home by using his own official car to transport himself to-and-from his favourite curry shop.

Alex Salmond and the SNP have done more for Scotland in the space of a few years than the Labour Party have done in many decades.

As for the socialists – gimme a break they have no chance of influencing policy on any government – either South or North of the Border – as for Government – never.

Rather have someone who is proud to be Scottish than those pathetic subservient little Englanders in the Labour party.

The voters in England will never know what the SNP actually stands for…I’m fed up of meeting these narrow minded ignorant pricks in (Scotland) who think nationalism equals fascism and don’t do their homework when it comes to politics. Voting labour to keep out the conservatives was a complete waste of time. Doing the same with lib dem had people beating themselves up after they thought they’d made a tactical decision voting for them.

Using the words ‘hissy fit’ and portraying Mr. Salmond in a US general’s uniform is just the sort of patronising propaganda that people should be immune from…but sadly they’re not.
