A feature by which august news organisation led to Barack Obama sacking one of his top generals; the New York Times or Washington Post? Al Jazeera, perhaps? Unless you’ve had ear muffs on for the past 24 hours it can’t have escaped your notice that it was Rolling Stone’s Summer double issue that did it for Stanley McChrystal.

Looking up the front cover, Scrapbook finds it somewhat ironic that the last M16 the general will appear alongside may be those attached to Lady Gaga’s brassiere (original image):
