26 hours to go: Gordon Brown to go to palace at 3:30pm (maybe)

Though politicos and the media have long been working on the assumption that the election will be called on April 6th, senior Labour figures were briefing over the weekend that Gordon Brown will be going to the palace at around 3:30pm tomorrow.

Iron your rosettes!

UPDATE I: Several people have now mooted the morning as likely – after a political cabinet meeting at 9:30am. Mid-late afternoon was the thinking on Saturday, with PPCs being briefed 3:30pm. The source was impeccable (cabinet level) however the plan may have changed. We will have to wait and see!

UPDATE II: It now looks like the morning. See latest post.

Only 2 years too late. Dither, dither, dither.

Far, far too late. If he’d had the guts to go two years ago, we might have been inclined to offer him another term. Now that we’ve had the chance to get to know him, there is no chance whatever of him winning the election.
