Double irony as BNP councillor celebrates crucial goal from black player

“Get in their you mighty whites!” – and so BNP councillor Chris Beverley (@chrisbeverley ) celebrated a last gasp FA Cup equaliser for his beloved Leeds United. Notwithstanding the fact that Leeds played the fixture in their yellow away strip, the irony of someone with close links to Germany’s Nazi NPD using the phrase ”might whites” is really something.

But it seems this isn’t enough for a key player in a political movement already creaking at the seams with contradictions and all manner of nonsense. Who was it that dispatched an injury time penalty to bag the Yorkshire side a well-earned replay at Elland Road? Ahhh, yes; someone who wouldn’t even be in the country if Cllr Beverley had his way: Jermaine Beckford.

Being born and raised in London, like Beckford, isn’t enough for the oiks. Along with “Hitler will live forever”, the most notorious utterances of BNP director of publicity Mark Collett include accusing England midfielder Ashley Cole, who was also born in East London, of not being “ethnically British” and ”coming to this country”.

“Those darkies, coming over here, scoring our equalisers!”
