Woops! Scrapbook claims an accidental scalp

When Scrapbook and Pam Nash started poking a stick at the holy terror of Liberal Democrat blogging (not the first to do so) the last expectation was that the latest spat would culminate in local newsaper coverage in Mr. Ahmed’s native Pendle. Suffice it to say that his insensitive comments on troop deaths did not go down well in Pennine Lancashire.

Counter intuitively, having uber-bloggers mock you (800,000 readers/month) isn’t enough; the local press (circulation 27,481) needed to get involved before Cowley Street acted to drag Irfan’s online presence to the dignitas clinic:

Lancashire Telegraph: Pendle political bloggers in row over dead soldiers

Scrapbook honestly hopes to see an older, wiser and more considered Irfan back on the internets at some point.

Where does it say that Cowley Street got involved? From the looks of things, as soon as Irfan got the call from the local press he hit the big red delete button.
As he’s already disposed of two (if not three) former blogs, plus numerous posts over the years he’s got tons of experience at trying to hide it out for a few weeks.
