Notwithstanding supporting veterans’ charities, The Sun is using troop deaths as the most tasteless and crass cover to pursue a political vendetta against the Labour Party in general and Gordon Brown in particular.
The Sun drapes itself in the Union Jack and basks in the reflected glory of “our boys”. So why did Rupert Murdoch agitate to put UK troops into harms way (179 of them dying) in Iraq? The unimpeachable moral objective of the, erm, $40 barrel of oil, of course!
