The Daily Mail, home to such headlines as Pakistani claims asylum because she’s seven feet tall and Muslims outraged at police advert featuring cute puppy, may have turned over a new leaf with a bizarre act of positive discrimination.
The following advert appeared this week on press industry website Gorkana:
Daily Mail – Young Journalist of the Year Award
The Daily Mail is looking for talented writers in print or broadcast, under 30 and from a visible ethnic minority to enter the Young Journalist of the Year Award and stand a chance to win £500 or an internship with the Daily Mail.
Or perhaps they’ve decided that articles about running gypsies and asylum seekers out the country carry better with a picture of a ‘visibly ethnic minority’ in the byline?
